A referral came in from my old home town and I jumped at the chance to help a friend. They wanted logo for a clothing brand, marketed toward business professionals that are sick of uncomfortable business casual clothing.

They loved the logos from the 90s, the old MTV logo, toys, and wanted that to clash/combine with a clean aesthetic.

I felt it was like graffiti on a building in downtown Los Angeles. They agreed, we wanted to convey a harmony of the clean building mixed with the hand made art murals and letters painted across them. A way of saying the business casual would get you through the door, but your style will help you stand out.
They had an initial sketch that I started from and iterated on to eventually land on the final piece.
Wishing LA Devotee all the best for the future.
